Angela is a Boston-based horn player with wide-ranging interests and diverse experiences, which makes her an engaging performer and music educator.  She has recently performed with the Lexington Symphony, Plymouth Philharmonic, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Cape Ann Symphony, New Hampshire Philharmonic and Keene Chamber Orchestra.


Her upcoming 2019-20 season engagements include performing at Walt Disney World for the Candlelight Processional Orchestra.  In the past she has performed in ensembles under the baton of such conductors as Bramwell Tovey, Karina Canellakis, Benjamin Zander, Joshua Gersen, H. Robert Reynolds, Dr. Andrew Boysen, and Mallory Thomson.  She has performed in concert halls and venues around the world including Mexico, Cuba, Singapore, Germany, France, Monaco, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.


Angela is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Boston University. Here in addition to her studies, she serves as the Graduate Teaching Assistant / Assistant Conductor for the Concert Band and Brass Choir.  She is the winds and brass coach for the All-Campus Orchestra, and regularly mentors undergraduate performance majors.  She is the principal player for the BU Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra.


Angela explores music as a community-building tool, and is dedicated to building a community of horn players in the New England area. In 2018 she produced an event called Holiday Horns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, which will be an annual horn choir day similar to Tuba Christmas.  Because of her individual efforts to unify the horn players in her region, she was recently named the International Horn Society Area Representative for both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.


Prior to her Doctoral studies, Angela lived in Singapore where she performed with Lang Lang, the Singapore Lyric Opera, the English National Ballet, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” Live, the Korean National Opera, Disney On Classic, the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, “Legend of  Zelda” in Concert, and the Cameron MacKintosh international touring production of Les Miserables. During this time she was the primary brass instructor for all students at Dulwich College Singapore, Singapore American School, Australian International School, and the German European School.


Before moving to Singapore in 2014, Angela lived in New York City where she worked in artist management at Opus 3 Artists, and in arts administration in marketing at the New York Philharmonic. She holds a Masters in Horn Performance from Boston University, studies with Eric Ruske.  She has been coached by such esteemed horn and brass players as David Ohanian, Barry Tuckwell, Jamie Sommerville, Kendall Betts, Jean Rife, Seth Orgel, Terry Everson, JD Shaw, Toby Oft, the Atlantic Brass Quintet, Boston Brass, and TransAtlantic Horn Quartet. She holds a Bachelors degree in Horn Performance from the University of New Hampshire, studying with John Boden.


Angela maintains a Boston-based private teaching studio of students of all ages, and is currently on faculty as the horn instructor with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra Preparatory Winds Ensemble and the Boston Intensive Community Project.


When Angela is not at school, teaching, or playing the horn, she works as a horn tech associate at Pope Instrument Repair in Jamaica Plain.  Angela is originally from Methuen, Massachusetts, and has a passion for animals. She has volunteered in New York City and Singapore with multiple animal rescues, conservation groups, and wildlife rehabilitation organizations.
